MERIT BADGE CLASSES 2024
Merit Badge Classes for 2024 are open!
Each class will have a merit badge counselor that will guide scouts through the merit badge to completion. Some classes require the Scout to follow up with the Merit Badge counselor after the class has concluded.
REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Select the number of youth you are registering and then click on the green "Register" button.
Enter the PARENT information in the REGISTRATION CONTACT section, and the SCOUT'S information in the the Scouts BSA Youth section.
Select the Check Out Now tab, and complete payment for the course.
Cycling - Mountain Bike
This merit badge will start in multiple locations. Bike, helmet and bicycle repair kit are required.

Attendance at first session on April 27 is required (classroom, equipment check, and 2 mile ride). All other sessions are optional, scouts may complete the rides independently. Additional rides are required to complete the merit badge.
Cost: $25.00 per youth.
Parents are welcome to register and ride with the group. Bring lunch and water to first and last session. Ending times are approximate.
Registration is limited to 12 scouts.

Crime Prevention
This merit badge is offered as a two-session program on Monday evenings at Camp Somers.
Program dates:
Monday Apr. 22, 2024 - 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
Monday May 6, 2024 - 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
Attendance at both sessions is required to complete the badge.
Cost: $25.00 per youth.
Registration is limited to 10 Scouts.
Both sessions will be held at the Tuney Lodge, Camp Somers MASR 750 Waterloo Road, Stanhope NJ.

Electronics
Saturday, April 20, 2024 - 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
This is a one day class.
Scouts will recieve a kit and build a working circuit board as part of this program.
Cost: $40.00 per youth.
Registration is limited to 10 Scouts.

Scouts will learn basics of plumbing, cutting pipe, sweating pipe, and repairing fixtures.

Chess Merit Badge and Open Chess Session- pending
Saturday, March 9, 2024 - 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Scouts can select either a Chess Merit Badge or participate in Open Chess Session. Please select at check out.
Cost: $15.00 per youth. Lunch is included (pizza and a soft drink) for both options.
Scouts must know how to play chess to participate in the Chess Merit Badge Class.
The PPC Chess Club will run the Open Chess Session, you can learn chess, play chess, and improve your chess skills.
